Every Click Can Help Carry a Legacy Forward

Issue No 40

This year, reading Bat Ball Business can help us honour Kenroy Williams.

Kenroy was a friend, a competitor and a former Barbados captain. He was also part of a moment that has stayed with me for years.

In 2017, he played in the first regional Pink Day cricket match I organised in Barbados. When he passed away in November 2024, that memory took on even greater meaning.

So when the opportunity came to participate in PMCF Cricket, I committed from Year 1 and named our team the Kenroy Williams XI in his honour.

What began as a tribute has become an annual commitment.

It is a commitment to Kenroy’s memory, to the people who loved him and to the work being done through the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation.

In Season 1, the Kenroy Williams XI raised CAD $8,409.15.

In Season 2, we raised another CAD $6,970.

Across two seasons, that is more than CAD $15,000 raised.

Now, as we enter Year 3, the event feels even more compelling.

We have built something meaningful in Kenroy’s name, but there is still one target we have not reached.

This season, we want the Kenroy Williams XI to raise CAD $10,000 in a single year.

How Bat Ball Business Will Help

To give us a head start, every dollar of advertising revenue generated through the Bat Ball Business newsletter between now and the event will be donated to the Kenroy Williams XI fundraising total.

That means your regular engagement with the newsletter can make a direct contribution.

The process is simple.

Open and read Bat Ball Business.

When you see a sponsored link that genuinely interests you, click it and take a look.

Those verified ad engagements help the newsletter earn revenue. Every dollar earned through those ads will go towards our Season 3 total.

There is no additional donation required.

You receive your usual weekly insight into the business of cricket, and that engagement helps us continue a tribute that means a great deal to Kenroy’s family, friends and the wider cricket community.

A click may feel like a small action.

But enough small actions can help us carry a legacy forward and move closer to our goal of creating a world free from the fear of cancer.

Thank you for reading, supporting and helping us make an early start towards CAD $10,000.
